The next time that you visit The Lodge make sure you look in the lounge. You might notice something colourful taking over the wall!

We are thrilled to introduce our new Community Art Board—a space where students and staff can contribute small pieces of art, stickers, magnets and crafts to create a massive collaborative masterpiece.

We wanted a space that encouraged creativity without the pressure of a "big project." Students can grab a sticker or magnet sheet and use the station provided—packed with acrylic markers, coloured pencils and pens—to create whatever they like.

One of the best features of the board is the conversation it starts. Students sign their names on the back of their pieces, which has sparked some lovely interactions between students and staff who connect over shared interests or admiration for a specific drawing.
From digital art (which we print out) to hand-drawn sketches, the variety is incredible. It is a wonderful way for our young people to showcase what they are "comfortable" with, rather than what they are told to do.
We are already planning to add watercolours to the mix soon. Next time you are in, take a look—you might just find a tiny masterpiece that makes your day! - Angélique and Rob
