I studied biochemistry at Nihon University in Tokyo, and then worked as a researcher for a Japanese aroma company.  I later took courses to learn interior design, space art and colour co-ordination, and switched jobs to work as an interior planner. 

 

After meeting my future husband, I trained to teach Japanese as a foreign language and subsequently moved to the UK. I enjoy sharing my love for the Japanese language. In my teaching, I explore the connection between the language and aspects of Japanese subculture including animation, manga comics and music.
