ChildLine is a counselling service for children and young people up to their 19th birthday in the United Kingdom provided by the NSPCC. Childline is a free 24-hour counselling service for children and young people. Childline deals with any issue which causes distress or concern. Common issues dealt with include bullying, mental illness, substance misuse, neglect, and abuse.

COMPUTER GAMES DEVELOPMENT

If you're about to start our course in Computer Games Development, you can get a head start by having a look at some of the free resources available below.

Stencyl is one of the software packages we use to design games. Over the course, you will create a new platform game, similar Mario or Sonic. You can download this at home for free on Windows or Mac.

Stencyl uses the programming language Scratc, which was developed by the university MIT to teach young people how to code using coloured blocks and real sentences.

Twine is one of the software packages we use to create games. It is used to create non-linear text based stories. You can download this at home for free on Windows or Mac.

RPG Maker MV is one of the software packages we use to create games. It is used to create RPG's in the style of Pokemon on Zelda, and is very easy to learn. It is not free, but you can use it in our Creative Suite, and download your finished game as a playable app on Windows or Mac.

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY & PERFORMANCE

If you're about to start our course in Music Performance or Music Technology, you can get a head start by having a look at some of the free resource available below.

Audacity is one of the software packages we use to edit sound. You can use it to record your music. You can download this at home for free on Windows or Mac.

Logic Pro is one of the software packages we use to create professional quality recordings. It is used to record, mix, and render high quality audio files. It is only available for Mac, and is not free. You can use it in our creative suite, and render your finished pieces as mp3s that you can play at home.

ART & DESIGN AND PHOTOGRAPHY

If you're about to start our course in Art & Design and/pr Photography, you can get a head start by having a look at some of the resources available below.

Gimp is one of the software packages we use to draw and edit new works of art. You can use GIMP to create, edit, and touch. You can download this at home for free on Windows or Mac.

Photoshop is one of the software packages we use to create digital images, for example, backgrounds, characters, and animation. It is available for Mac and Windows, but is not free. You can use it in our creative suite, and render your finished pieces as JPEGs to take home.

Room by Room, National Portrait Gallery, explore the portraits in the National Portrait Gallery through their website and look at portraits through the centuries from Tudor England to People of Today.

The Photographers' Gallery was founded in London in 1971, as the first public gallery in the UK devoted solely to photography. On their website you can browse their upcoming exhibitions and see loads of examples of contemporary and historical photography.

Quick Draw! is an online game developed by Google that challenges players to draw a picture of an object or idea and then uses a neural network artificial intelligence to guess what the drawings represent.
