After School Clubs

At LAMP we are always looking for new ways to support our students' physical and mental well-being. We offer a range of after school clubs that encourage this, where students can socialise with their peers and learn new skills. See below for more details.

Aerial Skills:
Mondays and Fridays 3.15 - 4.30

Aerial provides a brilliant outlet to help our young people with their physical and mental well-being. Aerial involves performing various movements and exercises using a silks, a trapeze or a hoop, all suspended from the ceiling. It's brilliant exercise for improving strength and coordination, and has provided a fun and supportive space for our students to be social with their peers. Some of our students have found that achieving success in aerial has helped to boost their confidence and self-esteem that carries into other aspects of their lives.

Aerial is delivered by Flo, who has years of experience, and who makes sure every session is safe and appropriate for those who attend. Moves that seem intimidating at first, become easy as Flo helps students to break these moves into smaller, easy to process chunks.

If you’re interested in trying aerial, please get in contact. We’d love to answer any questions you may have.

Dungeons & Dragons: Tuesdays 3.15 - 4.30

Playing Dungeons & Dragons is a great way for autistic young people to develop social skills and improve communication. In this game, players work together to solve puzzles, battle monsters, and complete quests, all while using their imagination and creativity. By playing Dungeons & Dragons, our students can practice working as a team, communicating with their peers, and building positive relationships.

In addition to developing social skills, playing Dungeons & Dragons can also help build self-confidence and self-esteem. This game is all about using your unique abilities and talents to overcome challenges. By participating in this club, our students can build a sense of pride and accomplishment that can carry over into other areas of their lives.

D&D is delivered by Luke, who is passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment for our students. As always, LAMP’s goal is to provide a fun and engaging experience that promotes learning and growth, while also fostering a sense of community and belonging.

This club is a great way for young people with autism to explore their interests, make new friends, and build valuable life skills. If you're interested in learning more about our after-school Dungeons & Dragons club, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.

Music Club: Live n Diverse, Tuesdays 3.15 - 5.00

Live N Diverse is a club for young people with autism who are interested in developing music skills, forming bands, and planning and running gigs. We are proud to say that this club is funded by the charity Youth Music, and we're excited to tell you more about how it can benefit young people with autism.

Music is a powerful tool for self-expression and creativity, and it can be especially beneficial for young people with autism. Many of our students have a natural affinity for music, and Live N Diverse provides them with a safe and supportive environment to explore their interests and develop their skills.

In our club, students have the opportunity to learn a variety of music skills, including playing instruments, singing, songwriting, and music production. Our experienced staff are dedicated to helping each student discover and develop their unique talents, and we provide a range of resources and equipment to support their learning.

In addition to developing music skills, Live N Diverse is a great way for young people with autism to develop social skills and build confidence. Our students have the opportunity to form bands and work together to plan and run gigs, which provides them with a sense of accomplishment and pride. By participating in this club, our students learn to communicate with their peers, work as a team, and develop leadership skills.

We believe that Live N Diverse is a valuable resource for young people with autism, and we're thrilled to be able to offer it to our students. Our goal is to provide a fun and engaging experience that promotes learning and growth, while also fostering a sense of community and belonging. If you're interested in learning more about Live N Diverse, please don't hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have.
